Crescent Super Band Invited to Headline America250 Celebration in Washington, D.C.

The Crescent Super Band has received one of the most prestigious invitations in its history: a headlining performance on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., as part of the nation's America250 celebration, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Selected to represent Utah on one of the country's biggest stages, the award-winning ensemble will perform before thousands of attendees during what organizers expect to be one of the largest Independence Day celebrations in American history. The invitation places the band alongside a historic national celebration honoring America's past while looking ahead to its future.

The opportunity came after an unforgettable performance during a Freedom 250 educational event, where the band's musicianship caught the attention of Mary Anne Carter. Impressed by the ensemble's artistry and professionalism, Carter extended an invitation for the Crescent Super Band to perform in the nation's capital as part of the America250 festivities.

For Soundhouse founder Caleb Chapman, the invitation represents a defining milestone for the program.

Over nearly three decades, the Crescent Super Band has performed with internationally acclaimed artists, appeared at major festivals, and taken the stage in renowned venues around the world. Yet performing as a featured ensemble on the National Mall during America's 250th birthday celebration marks a new level of recognition for both the band and the state it represents.

In preparation for the performance, the ensemble has expanded its rehearsal schedule and assembled a program celebrating the rich history of American music. The repertoire spans generations and genres, featuring everything from jazz and swing to rock, soul, funk, and contemporary favorites before concluding with patriotic selections that honor the occasion.

The invitation is more than a performance opportunity—it's a chance for these young musicians to represent Utah on a national stage while celebrating one of the most significant milestones in American history. As thousands gather in Washington, D.C., the Crescent Super Band will showcase not only its own artistry, but also the talent, dedication, and vibrant music community that define Soundhouse.

For the artists, directors, and families who have helped build the Crescent Super Band into one of the nation's premier youth ensembles, this invitation stands as a powerful reminder of what can happen when preparation meets opportunity. As the band takes the stage in the heart of the nation's capital, it will carry with it the pride of Utah and the Soundhouse community, celebrating America's 250th birthday through the universal language of music.
