January 25 is Caleb Chapman’s Soundhouse Day in Utah, declared by Gov. Spencer J. Cox. No other youth music program in the state has a day named in its honor.
You won’t be watching from the crowd.
Last season, every Soundhouse Artist performed with legendary songwriter Kenny Loggins. This season, every Soundhouse Artist will take the stage with one of the greatest bands of all time — Earth, Wind & Fire.
There is no separate audition. If you are in a Soundhouse band, you are part of the experience—and you’ll be on that stage.
In the past, Soundhouse Artists have recorded with GRAMMY winners Trombone Shorty, Branford Marsalis, Victor Wooten, Roy “Futureman” Wooten, Randy Brecker, Jeff Coffin, and James Valentine of Maroon 5, among others.
Most college music majors never experience a recording session like that.
