Most kids this age spend their free time on a screen. Yours picked up an instrument instead, and you would like that to lead somewhere real — to confidence, to friends who care about the same things, to something they are genuinely proud of. The hard part is finding the other musicians who take it as seriously as they do. That is the whole reason Soundhouse exists.
Soundhouse gives musicians ages 10–18 a place to rehearse, perform, record, and grow alongside peers who care as much as they do. This is more than another lesson or after-school activity. In a professionally produced band, your musician learns to prepare, collaborate, take creative risks, and deliver when it matters.

Every Soundhouse artist is placed in a band suited to their age, ability, and goals. Rehearsals lead to meaningful performances at world-class venues—not just recitals.
Our team works alongside families to balance school, private lessons, and other commitments. Artists are challenged, supported, and known.

On band tours
Every band tour is staffed by trained Soundhouse Tour Staff, all professionally background checked. Junior bands travel with one adult for every five Artists; Senior bands, one for every eight. Lodging varies by country and availability, but Artists are typically four to a room in two queen beds, with staff on the same floor. Before departure, parents are added to a private tour Slack channel and hear from staff throughout the trip.

Comparable youth band programs in the area run roughly $199 to $350 a month. Soundhouse runs $299 to $591 depending on the band. We are the most expensive youth music program in Utah, and that is deliberate — it is what pays for the producers, the building, the studio, the band tour and the stages your musician will actually stand on. Every band’s exact figure is published in the season catalog, in public, before you call. None of the others publish a number at all.

Getting started takes three steps.
No paperwork before you have seen the place. A musician who has outgrown practicing alone will either find people who push them, or quietly stop pushing themselves.
Sit in with a band
Bring the instrument. Your musician spends at least thirty minutes inside a Soundhouse band rehearsal — playing, or just watching if that feels better the first time — then you both sit down with our founder for questions. About an hour, start to finish. No application, no audition, no commitment.
Audition and interview
This is where we hear your musician play and talk through what they want — it tells us whether Soundhouse is the right room for them, and which band. And admission happens once: we only take an artist when there’s a guaranteed seat for them, and once they’re in, they’re in until they choose to leave.

Every artist takes a Placement Audition each season. It never puts membership at risk — it’s how we match your musician to the band that fits their level and goals this year. You see the band and its exact monthly price, register online, and rehearsals begin.

A live venue with a full lighting rig and PA. A recording studio with a staff engineer at the desk. Rehearsal rooms treated like the stages your musician will play on. It’s all in one building in Pleasant Grove, Utah — the only music school of its kind in Utah County, with Artists driving in from Provo, Orem, Lehi, American Fork, Salt Lake City, Park City, and communities across the state — and we’d love to show you around! Every Artist in this building earned their seat at an audition — that is what makes the room worth walking into. Not sure yet? Every Soundhouse Artist performed with Kenny Loggins last season. Every Soundhouse Artist will be on stage with Earth, Wind & Fire this season. Not a select few. Everyone.
Soundhouse artists have also recorded with GRAMMY winners Trombone Shorty, Branford Marsalis, Victor Wooten, Roy “Futureman” Wooten, Randy Brecker, Jeff Coffin, Kenny Loggins and James Valentine of Maroon 5. Most university music programs never offer this. Ours are in junior high and high school.
