Soundhouse Artist Michael Brinton and the Brinton Family Take the Stage at Carnegie Hall

Soundhouse is celebrating an extraordinary milestone this month as one of its own — pianist and multi‑talented artist Michael Brinton — joins the renowned Brinton Family Pianists for a performance at the legendary Carnegie Hall on March 23, 2026.

Michael, an accomplished musician known for his work across jazz, classical, and contemporary styles, is among the three generations of Brinton family performers set to present a richly varied concert program at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall. The ensemble features fifteen family members — from seasoned adults to young pianists as young as seven years old — performing selections that span classical masterworks by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff to more modern repertoire.

A gifted pianist and performer, Michael studies with acclaimed instructors and has distinguished himself with recognition such as the 2024 Utah Music Teachers Association AIM Recognition Award as well as winning the Piano Marvel Concerto Competition. In addition to classical pursuits, he has a vibrant performance background that includes touring with musical theater productions like Jersey Boys and CATS, and serving as keyboardist with ensembles ranging from honors jazz bands to the award‑winning Crescent Super Band.

Michael’s participation in the Brinton Family’s Carnegie Hall performance highlights not only his breadth of musicianship but also a deeply rooted family tradition of sharing music across generations. His inspiration traces back to early memories of hearing his grandmother — Juilliard‑trained pianist Sally Peterson Brinton — perform, a moment he credits with sparking his own passion for piano.

This special concert marks a continuation of the Brinton family’s legacy: Sally — the family matriarch with a storied performance history — leads her children, grandchildren, and extended family in what promises to be an unforgettable evening of artistry, connection, and musical celebration in one of the world’s most iconic venues.

For Michael Brinton and his family, taking the Carnegie Hall stage is more than a performance — it’s a testament to years of dedication, disciplined study, and the joy of sharing music with audiences of all ages.
