Huey Lewis Honored by Soundhouse at People's Music Hall of Fame Induction

On February 7, 2025, over 200 young musicians from Caleb Chapman’s Soundhouse took center stage at Salt Lake City’s Eccles Theater to honor music legend Huey Lewis, the inaugural inductee into the newly established People's Music Hall of Fame.

.The event, co-founded by Caleb Chapman and Adam Reader (known as the "Professor of Rock"), aimed to recognize influential artists who have significantly impacted music and culture but may not have received widespread industry accolades.

Throughout the evening, Soundhouse ensembles performed a selection of Lewis's hits, including "The Power of Love," "Hip to Be Square," and "If This Is It." Special guests such as Tyler Glenn of Neon Trees, Tom "Bones" Malone of The Blues Brothers, and Marc Russo of The Doobie Brothers joined the young musicians on stage, creating a dynamic blend of seasoned professionals and emerging talent.

Proceeds from the event supported the Sound Support Foundation, providing music performance scholarships for Utah students. An anonymous donor matched all contributions up to $250,000, amplifying the impact of the fundraiser.

This memorable evening not only celebrated Huey Lewis's enduring legacy but also showcased the exceptional talent and dedication of Soundhouse's young musicians, highlighting the transformative power of music education.
