Soundhouse Band Donates Prom Performance for Peers with Special Needs

In a powerful example of music bringing communities together, Soundhouse band Vicious Beat recently donated a live performance for a special needs prom serving students from Dan W. Peterson School. The event, held at Lehi High School, created an unforgettable night centered on inclusion, celebration, and connection.

The annual prom is designed to give students with disabilities the opportunity to experience a traditional high school dance alongside their peers — something many might not otherwise have access to. Events like this have become a meaningful tradition within the Alpine School District, offering students a chance to dress up, socialize, and enjoy a night focused entirely on fun and community.

For the Soundhouse artists, the performance represented more than just another gig — it was an opportunity to use their talents in service of others. Playing for an audience that was there purely to celebrate, connect, and enjoy the experience created a unique and deeply rewarding atmosphere for both performers and attendees.

Throughout the night, the focus remained on joy and inclusion. From the first song to the final moments on the dance floor, the energy in the room reflected exactly what the event was designed to achieve: giving every student the chance to feel seen, celebrated, and part of something special.

Moments like these highlight an essential part of the Soundhouse mission — not just developing great musicians, but shaping artists who understand the impact their music can have beyond the stage. By donating their performance, Vicious Beat helped create a night that students will remember for years to come.

At its core, the event was a reminder that music is at its most powerful when it brings people together — and in this case, it did exactly that.
